How many IVF acupuncture treatments will I need?

The number of IVF acupuncture treatments administered will depend on your commitment to using acupuncture to treat your infertility. There are essentially three different alternatives in how you can use acupuncture as an adjunct to IVF therapy.

Firstly, those who would like to maximise the benefits of acupuncture, seek treatment two to three months prior to the commencement of their IVF cycle. Often the patients who seek treatment early will also receive Chinese herbal medicine as part of their treatment.

Secondly, other fertility patients only chose to receive acupuncture during their IVF cycle. Finally, some fertility patients opt to only receive IVF acupuncture on the day of their transfer. In this case the acupuncture is administered immediately before and after the embryo transfer at the IVF clinic. This option is usually taken by those who did not think of using acupuncture before starting their IVF cycle.

At the Fertility and IVF Acupuncture Clinic, Dr Wilson recommends you use acupuncture to the best of its advantage. This means adopting an approach of “leaving no stone unturned”. Then you will be able to finish your IVF cycle knowing you have done all you can to increase your chances of a pregnancy. A “no regrets” approach.

At times infertility patients at the Fertility and IVF Acupuncture Clinic opt for the bare minimum in their acupuncture treatment. Then after learning what acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine can do, or after a failed IVF attempt, they regret their approach. This realisation is very much regretted by these patients especially when they reflect on the comparably affordable cost of the IVF acupuncture. The benefits you will receive from acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine will increase your chances of a positive IVF cycle well beyond the incremental increase in cost.
