How long will it take me to achieve a pregnancy?

It is impossible for this question to be answered in a generalised sense to suit all infertility cases. It is best answered on a case by case basis. This question will be answered more accurately during your initial consultation at the Fertility and IVF Acupuncture Clinic.

The general policy at the Fertility and IVF Acupuncture Clinic is for all fertility patients to be willing to commit to a five month treatment program. This allows Dr Wilson to have a realistic time frame to address the cause of your infertility. Generally speaking, it takes Dr Wilson two months to make progress in regulating the menstrual cycle. Then over the next three months, more focused attempts are made in each cycle to fall pregnant. Most patients who achieve a pregnancy at the Fertility and IVF Acupuncture Clinic will do so after approximately five to six months. By the end of this five month period, Dr Wilson will have a clear idea on what further steps to take if a pregnancy has not occurred. The treatments will then continue only with consultation between Dr Wilson and the patient until a pregnancy results. Scientific evidence suggests that when both male and female are healthy, there is only a 20% chance of a pregnancy in each menstrual cycle. Unfortunately, some fertility cases need patience and time.

As a patient at the Fertility and IVF Acupuncture Clinic, Dr Wilson will keep you up to date with your progress and he will provide advice accordingly. Dr Wilson takes pride in his rate of success. He will not allow you to enter into nor continue to receive treatment unless he feels there is a realistic chance of a pregnancy. It must not be forgotten that many patients fall pregnant within this five month period. Some even fall pregnant after one or two cycles! It helps enormously to maintain a positive attitude and to diligently follow the protocol for your fertility treatment.
