Dr Kirk Wilson (PhD) – The Practitioner

Dr Kirk Wilson (PhD) is the principal acupuncturist and herbal medicine practitioner at the Fertility and IVF Acupuncture Clinic. He has a special interest in women’s health and infertility employing protocols which combine modern developments in knowledge with traditional wisdom.

Dr Wilson operates the Fertility and IVF Acupuncture Clinic according to high principals of integrity and honesty and never misleads or over promises. Patients can be confident of the utmost discretion and confidentiality. He ensures everyday business at the Fertility and IVF Acupuncture Clinic takes a patient focused approach. This means ensuring he is available to take phone calls to discuss developments with patients. He prides himself being present for his patients and making every effort to be available for the IVF patients at the time of transfer. 

Dr Wilson has come to focus his work on women’s health from an interesting chain of events. In addition to having studied acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SITCM), Dr Wilson also has an undergraduate major in psychology. Dr Wilson decided to combine the two disciplines and undertook research at the University of Technology, Sydney. He conducted a clinical trial in which he tested using acupuncture for depression and anxiety. During this research, he became well versed in treating imbalances which Chinese medicine theory attributes to the liver. The liver, according to the Chinese medicine theory, is linked to conditions related to mood/mental health as well as the menstrual cycle. Dr Wilson has applied this knowledge to women’s health and fertility.
